A mother is selling three Taylor Swift tickets she bought for her daughter's 13th birthday because the megastar has endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
In the trending video It's spreading on social mediaThe woman said she was selling three tickets to the Toronto show of her Eras Tour because she no longer wanted to support Swift and her “non-Christian beliefs.”
“Hi, this is for Taylor Swift,” her mother said. “I don't think it'll ever reach you, but it's worth a shot.”
“My ticket is for sale because I don't want to spend another dollar supporting you guys and your private jets and your non-Christian faith,” the mother said.
She also said she feels former President Donald Trump is “the right person for the job” and slammed the “Cruel Summer” singer for being an unrealistic billionaire who owns a private jet, echoing vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance's recent comments that Swift is “fundamentally out of touch with the interests and issues of most Americans.”
Her mother also claimed that if Harris wins, “the economy will collapse.”
“Donald Trump is the right man. When the American economy suffers, the whole world suffers, Taylor. And when the whole world suffers, your job is in jeopardy, your career is in jeopardy because no one can go to your concerts,” she said in the video.
The mother said she initially got tickets for the Nov. 15 concert for her daughter's birthday because she has “always been a Taylor Swift fan.”
Swift announced She will vote Harris' comments, made immediately after Tuesday's debate, came as a surprise to most who have followed her political leanings thus far.
“I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she's fighting for rights and causes that I believe we need warriors to defend,” she said in a now-widely seen Instagram post.
Her endorsement has led to increased traffic to vote.gov.
Her mother said Swift's quick posts after the debate showed she was “not biased.”
She also said abortion access and LGBTQ rights would not be affected under a Trump administration, adding that “believers” would not support abortion.
She ended the letter dramatically with, “So, I'm going to move on and end my relationship with you.”
