“Rather than speculate, I thought I'd post my own experience of what happened onstage with Jane's Addiction last night at the Lender Pavilion in Boston,” Lau wrote on Instagram.
“There was obviously tension and animosity between the band members. That was the magic of the band dynamic. So the dynamite was lit. Perry stood in front of Dave's face and body-checked him,” she explained.
Lau added that Perry was not in the best of health ahead of the band's performance and the fight began when Perry's patience reached its limit.

“Perry's frustration grew with each night as she felt the stage volume was so loud that her voice was being drowned out by the band's performance,” she continued.
“Perry suffered from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But the front row of the audience was singing to Perry as the band played. [playing] Perry was furious because the voices were too loud for him to hear.”
In a lengthy post, Lau wrote that Jane's Addiction founding member, bass guitarist and co-lyricist Eric Avery “has won this battle.”

“Eric walked up to Perry onstage in the dark, grabbed him by the head and punched him three times in the stomach. Kevin, a long-haired staff member, pulled Eric off him. Eric then calmly walked to the front of the stage and apologized to the audience for ending the show early.”
She went on to say that the aftermath of the concert brawl ended with Eric making “several vile attacks on Perry.”
“Perry was like a crazy beast for the next 30 minutes. He never calmed down and had a mental breakdown and cried.”
