Bolton says Harris’s foreign policy would be ‘like four more years of Biden’

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton said that if Vice President Harris is elected, foreign policy would “look like another four years” of President Biden's policies.

Bolton appeared on WABC 770 AM's John Catsimatidis' radio show “Cats Roundtable” on Sunday to discuss the international situation and the election. Bolton criticized the Biden administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan and said he believes world leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin can sense “weakness,” which is why the Ukraine war started.

As Harris prepares to run for office after Biden leaves office, people are beginning to question her policy stances and how she will handle foreign policy amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas wars.

Bolton said it was an “open question” what level of foreign policy Harris has, arguing that her administration “will be at least similar to the next four years of Biden's administration.”

“I think that's the best we can do right now, and it just makes us look weak and unreliable in the world,” Bolton said.

While Harris has embraced the Biden administration's initiatives and policies, she has sought to carve out a new reputation for herself, campaigning that it's time for a new generation of leaders to emerge.

She has generally been more critical of Israel's ongoing war in Gaza but has publicly aligned herself with Biden. Like Biden, she has said a ceasefire agreement needs to be reached but has remained silent on U.S. arms sales to Israel.

Harris supports Ukraine in its war with Russia and said at last week's presidential debate that she has met with President Volodymyr Zelensky multiple times.

Republicans have criticized Ms Harris for becoming the Democratic nominee, accusing her of holding a coronation after Mr Biden withdrew. Ms Harris has sought to distinguish herself from Mr Biden during her brief campaign but has said she is grateful for the opportunity.

During Tuesday's debate, she reminded former President Trump — and likely the public watching — that he was no longer fighting Biden, but her and her ideas.
