Bill Gates' upcoming Netflix documentary series will tackle many of the billionaire's dearest causes, including his climate change pessimism, with Gates lecturing viewers that “we have to give up hydrocarbons almost entirely.”
Never mind that Bill Gates' carbon footprint is many times larger than the average American's, or that Netflix itself has its own private jet.
What's next? Thinking about the future with Bill Gates“The Big Bang,” which is set to premiere on September 18, will also explore many other issues close to the billionaire's heart: misinformation, artificial intelligence technology, and income inequality are just some of the themes that will be explored across the five episodes.
Dr. Anthony Fauci will be on to speak about the epidemic, as will progressive celebrities Bono and Lady Gaga.
The documentary series devotes a significant amount of time to the topic of climate change, with Gates saying, “We have to give up on hydrocarbons almost completely.”
Mr Gates has often been criticised for flying around the world in multiple private jets, but he denies accusations of hypocrisy on climate change, telling the BBC last year that he is “not part of the problem”.
“I'm a big supporter of the highest standards in funding Climeworks, which does direct air capture that far exceeds a family's carbon footprint, and is committing billions of dollars to climate innovation,” he said.
Netflix also owns a private jet (a Gulfstream G550) that it uses for VIP transportation.
As Breitbart News reported, Gates recently proposed the idea of an AI-powered three-day workweek.
Gates also recently endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
“I think it's great to have young people who can think about things like AI and how to get it right. I will certainly give my opinion to politicians that I care about, so it's going to be an interesting election,” he said. said France 24.
