Tony Romo clearly sees football differently than most people.
After all, he was a four-time Pro Bowl quarterback who played for the Cowboys for over a decade.
But during the Chiefs' 26-25 win over the Bengals on Sunday on CBS, Romo, whose analysis has been both praised and heavily criticized since joining CBS after retiring at the end of the 2016 season, offered an intriguing take on Patrick Mahomes' seemingly reckless passing.
Mahomes threw a pass to Travis Kelce in the red zone that was incomplete at the tight end's feet, but Romo still called it a “game-winning play.”
“Mahomes intentionally threw the ball on the ground,” Romo claimed. “He has great instincts. … This is a game-winning play.”
At the time, the Chiefs were facing a second-and-four situation from the Bengals' 6-yard line, but eventually converted a fourth down to create a first-down-and-goal situation, eventually tying the score between the teams late in the first quarter with a 19-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.

Of course, commenters were not happy with Romo.
Someone said:“Mahomes made an easy wide open throw and Romo acted like he did it on purpose lol.”
Add another one“I love Mahomes too, but Romo is overselling him here.”
The third one is Romo loses his jobHe simply said, “Fire Tony Romo.”
Mahomes completed 18 of 25 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the end zone to Rushe Rice and Wanya Morris in the Chiefs' first two wins of the year.
They'll face the Falcons next weekend on “Sunday Night Football” looking to get off to a 3-0 start on the season.
