Singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz dedicated his 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) award to his late mother and expressed his gratitude to Jesus Christ. Premier Christian NewsKravitz won best rock for “Human” at the ceremony held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on Wednesday night.
In a pre-show interview, Renee dedicated her win to her mother, Roxie Roker, who died of cancer in 1995 at the age of 66.
“Wow, this is unbelievable. I'm so grateful. 31 years ago, my mom was with me at the awards, she was with me at the VMAs, so I dedicate this picture to her,” he said. “I thank God for this journey, this incredible journey. I thank Jesus for giving me life.”
Rockstar also thanked his manager, publicist and “Human” video director Joseph Kahn for their support.
During the ceremony, Kravitz performed a medley of his hits, including his 1993 classic. Are you going to go my way?He appeared wearing silver pants and a white feather collar, then moved on to his latest single, “Human.” jump – Remix of the 1998 hit Fly away – Migos star Quavo also appeared on stage.

According to peopleKravitz is set to begin a residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas in October, performing five nights in what he considers “a celebration of life, music, love and rock 'n' roll.”
“I'm on tour. I started this summer in Europe, so this show is with everyone,” he said in a pre-show interview. “I'm here to spread love. I'm here to exchange energy with the audience. It's very free. It's all about exchanging energy and love. All the hits!”
He released his latest album, Blue Electric Light, in May and said at the VMAs that his artistry is like that of a painter.
“I play whatever I can play. I play every instrument on most songs and Craig Ross plays guitar on a few songs,” he explained. “I've always done that. It's like painting. I'm a painter. I paint with sound. I had great examples like Stevie Wonder and Prince, so that's where I came from.”
