Jalen Carter wasn't on the Eagles defense during the Falcons' first right of way in Monday night's heartbreaking loss, but it's now clear why he was on the sideline.
The 23-year-old defensive tackle was late last week for “team-related business.” The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday..
It's unclear what that was specifically, but Carter returned to the field for the Philadelphia defense on the Falcons' second offensive series of the game.
Carter ended up playing 46 of 61 snaps in the 22-21 loss to the Falcons on “Monday Night Football.”
This season has been a slow start for Carter, who hasn't recorded a sack in the first two games.
He also recorded just one quarterback hit.
Carter, a Georgia product, was a unanimous All-American in 2022 and was a first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The former Bulldog was questioned about his work ethic during his time in college. According to CBS Sports.
During his 2023 rookie season, Carter recorded six sacks and eight tackles for loss, earning him second place in the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year awards.
