Micah Parsons Says the Refs ‘Favored’ the Chiefs in Controversial Victory Against the Bengals

Micah Parsons didn't play in Sunday's Chiefs-Bengals game, but he has some thoughts about it.

Parsons and the rest of the Cowboys were outplayed by the Saints, 44-19, early in the game, which gave them plenty of time to watch Joe Burrow and the Bengals and Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs in the afternoon games that had plenty of twists and turns but ultimately ended with the Chiefs winning by one point.

Parsons said there were a lot of “crazy” calls, many of which were in favor of both sides, but he felt the Chiefs benefited the most from the refereeing decisions.

“That game was pretty crazy… the calls were pretty biased both ways and to be honest… I think the refs were a little bit in favor of the Chiefs but at the end of the day you can't put the game in the refs' hands,” Parsons said. said On Tuesday's podcast, Edge.

One particularly controversial call came late in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs were driving for the win. On fourth-and-16, Mahomes threw an incomplete pass to Rushe Rice, but the officials ruled that Cincinnati's Diane Robinson had made contact with Rice too early. The Chiefs gained a crucial first down on a drive that sealed the win with a 51-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.

But the miscall wasn't one-sided: Cincinnati wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase pulled Kansas City's Trent McDuffie to the ground on a play that resulted in a penalty on McDuffie, and Cincinnati scored on that drive.

Parsons was one of the first current players to use his social media platform to criticize other current players and officials, but he doesn't think anyone should be overly concerned by what he says.

“I don't think anybody cares what I'm doing when I'm home with my kids on a Monday afternoon, so nobody cares if I'm playing Xbox or not. I think we all have our own free time. When people are out here, are they thinking about me at home? I hope not,” Parsons said. said Press conference in August.

“I try not to say anything controversial, but everyone is attracted to something. They're going to take one thing. We all have opinions. We're not going to agree with what everyone says. That's life.”
