“Just get your military equipment and money.”

According to reports, U.S. Customs and Border Protection interviewed Routh at the Honolulu airport in June 2023. Authorities knew that Routh had visited Poland, particularly Warsaw, which is close to the Ukrainian border, and Istanbul, Turkey. They also knew that Routh was trying to recruit mercenaries from Taiwan, Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, and Moldova to fight Russia in Ukraine.

Blaze News previously reported that Routh Website The report, titled “Fighting for Ukraine,” details the various ways people may turn to fight as mercenaries in Ukraine, including illegal methods.

“Just gather all your military equipment and funds and fly to Krakow.[, Poland]”Take an intercity train or bus to Przemysl, then a local train or bus to Medika and on to the Ukrainian border,” Laus wrote.

Routh was keen for civilians around the world to fight for their lives in Ukraine, but he did not fight himself.
Reported New York Times reporter Thomas Gibbons Neff first learned of Routh through a former Afghan Special Forces soldier who had served in Iran.

Routh hatched a grand plan to recruit militants fleeing the Taliban to fight for Kiev. His X-Feed

In addition to attempting to recruit mercenaries, during his time in Ukraine, Laus expressed support for the Azov Brigades, an organization that has had ties to neo-Nazis since its founding.

said In a statement this week, the company said it had “no affiliation” with Mr Routh and that rumours to the contrary were “piggybacking off Russian propaganda”.

According to records reviewed by Just the News, Routh gave the border patrol officer who came to question him a card identifying him as a representative of an organization called the International Volunteer Center.

USA Today
Shown On Monday, the company tried to call a number associated with Routh, but a voicemail message introduced the caller as “Ryan in Hawaii” who “works for the National Volunteer Center and deploys troops to Ukraine and Taiwan.”

The International Volunteer Center of Ukraine made it clear that it does not cooperate with Laus.
tell “We have been officially registered as an organization in Ukraine since October 2023. Prior to the recent developments, no one knew about Routh or any other organization by the name of International Volunteer Center, other than our registered organization,” the New York Post reported.

According to a CBP memo about Routh's interview, “The subject is a USC who traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine for three months to assist in recruiting soldiers from Afghanistan, Moldova and Taiwan to fight in Ukraine's war with Russia.”

“Subject stated he does not receive payment for his recruiting efforts and all work he performs for the Ukrainian government is entirely volunteer work. When reached for comment, the Department of Homeland Security referred Just the News to the FBI, which is overseeing the investigation into the assassination attempt.

DHS also apparently failed to act on another concerning report filed by Chelsea Walsh, a nurse from West Palm Beach who encountered Routh in Kyiv in 2022.

Walsh became so concerned about Routh's erratic personality and threats of violence that he reported him to CBP officers at Washington's Dulles Airport in June 2022 after returning from Ukraine.

Walsh

“I told him, 'And there's this guy you guys need to watch out for. He's a time bomb. His name is Ryan Routh and he lives in Hawaii. He's going to come back from Ukraine at some point and somebody needs to track him down.'”

Walsh said Homeland Security never contacted her.

FBI Agent Jeffrey Veltri, an FBI agent in Miami, was reportedly forced to erase his social media history because of his anti-Trump comments, but the FBI also appears to have removed Routh from its investigation.

The Blaze News previously reported that the FBI received a complaint about Routh possessing a firearm in 2019. Criminal historyThe indictment, including his 2002 conviction for possession of a weapon of mass destruction, should have at least provided a basis for questioning.

“As we received the tip and conducted our investigation, the alleged accuser was interviewed, but he did not confirm — I repeat, did not confirm — the initial tip. The FBI passed that information on to local police in Honolulu,” Veltri said at a press conference on Monday.
