The best pizza restaurant in the world is located in New York City, according to an organization called 50 Top Pizza.
Una Pizza Napoletana, located on New York City's Lower East Side, reclaimed the top spot this year after dropping to No. 2 in the 2023 rankings.
50 Top Pizza released its list of the world's top pizza places earlier this week, along with top 50 rankings for the U.S., Europe and other regions.

Una Pizza Napoletana, commonly known as Una, is the only U.S.-based pizza restaurant to make it into the top five of the global rankings. The only other U.S. restaurant to make it into the top 10 is Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco.
According to the Una website, chef/owner Anthony Mangieri's pizzas are a “Neapolitan interpretation” featuring “thin, chewy crusts with plump, perfectly charred edges and minimal, carefully selected toppings.”

Eating pizza at Una is no easy feat.
According to its website, Una is only open three nights a week, serving pizza every night until they run out of dough.
There are just five types of pies on the menu, plus a “specialty pizza” that appears periodically.

In total, only about 400 pies are made at Una each week.
According to the restaurant's website, customers can order one pie per person per reservation, which opens up two weeks in advance, with very limited same-day reservations available.

A reviewer for 50 Top Pizza praised Una for successfully executing a relatively simple pizza concept.
“In a country where it's customary to put anything on pizza, Anthony uses the highest quality ingredients and offers only the purest traditions when it comes to toppings: Marinara, Margherita, Cosacca and pizzas that change daily based on market ingredients,” 50 Top Pizza said.

“The dough is modern but very unique, so it probably can't be categorized as good, tasty or has a distinct pizza aroma and flavor,” 50 Top Pizza said.
The company advises that anyone wanting to dine in “please make a reservation in advance as wait times can be very long.”
