Lions’ Dan Campbell selling $4.5M home after fans learn where he lives

Dan Campbell is on the move.

The Lions head coach has put the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home he shares with his family in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, on the market for $4.5 million due to security concerns. Crain's Detroit reports Wednesday.

“We have plenty of space, we're on two acres and the house is beautiful, but when we lost, people found out where we lived,” said Campbell, whose Lions reached the NFC Championship game last season.

The property was listed early last week and listed as “pending” within 24 hours, according to Crain's.

The identities of the potential buyers have not been released, but real estate agent Ashley Crain said they are “crazy” fans of the Detroit franchise.

The 7,800-square-foot residence was originally built in 2013 by Igor Larionov, a Hockey Hall of Famer and three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Red Wings, and boasts “an awe-inspiring two-story foyer that sets the tone for the home's lavish interior,” according to the listing.

Campbell was named head coach of the Lions in 2021 and had an eventful first year at the helm, with the team finishing with a record of 3 wins, 13 losses and 1 draw. The Lions' first win came in Week 13 of the season.

Detroit picked up steam from there, finishing the 2022 regular season with a 9-8 record as the franchise continued its transformation into a powerhouse.

The Lions finished first in the NFC North last season with a 12-5 record, winning their first division title in 30 years.

Detroit's Super Bowl dreams were dashed in January when they lost to the 49ers in the NFC Championship.

Campbell was criticized for some questionable calls in the 34-31 loss, including missing two field goal opportunities.

The Lions have since put that game in the past, opening the 2024 season with a 26-20 overtime win over the Rams and former Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford.

They beat Tampa Bay in January to reach the NFC Finals, but lost 20-16 to the Buccaneers in Week 2.

The Lions (1-1) visit the Cardinals (1-1) on Sunday.
