Nothing beats a divisional game for a home opener, but New York Jets fans took it to a whole new level of excitement in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium on Thursday night.
This week's Thursday Night Football took place in East Rutherford, New Jersey, pitting the Jets against the New England Patriots, an AFC East division rival that the Jets have not beaten at home since 2015.
In the L5 section of the parking lot, several Jets fans were seen setting a Patriots No. 10 jersey on fire, and the footage was posted to social media.

The lighting was coordinated by a Jets fan wearing a green chef's hat and white chef's jacket, who also led the “Jets Jets Jets Jets!” chant inside MetLife Stadium during the game, led by New York superfan “Fireman Ed.”
Although the back of the jersey was not visible, former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones wore No. 10 before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

But the New England Patriots' new quarterback, No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye, will also wear No. 10 in his rookie season.
The navy blue, red and white jerseys were soon lit up in flames as Jets fans in the stands cheered.

Both teams enter the rivalry with 1-1 records, with the Jets coming off their first win of the season on the road last week against the Tennessee Titans, while the Patriots stunned the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 1 before losing in overtime to the Seattle Seahawks.
While Jets fans burned Patriots jerseys, many fans entered the stadium wearing green and white jerseys with the No. 8 on them to show support for 40-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers will step back onto the grass at MetLife Stadium for the first time since rupturing his Achilles on the fourth play of the 2023 season. Jets fans were excited to see Rodgers win the first two games and be agile in the pocket while leading the offense, but everyone wanted to see what would happen when he homered.
