Aaron Rodgers dominated the Patriots and his head coach.
Rodgers and the Jets defeated New England 24-3 in their home opener on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.
Rodgers dismantled the Patriots defense, completing 27 of 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns.
The win improved the Jets to 2-1 for the first time since 2015, but there was one strange moment in this dominating victory.
After Breece Hall's touchdown gave the Jets a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, television cameras captured an awkward exchange between Rodgers and Jets coach Robert Saleh.
When Rodgers came to the sideline, Saleh tried to hug him, but Rodgers put his hand on Saleh's chest, gave him a light push, said something to his coach, walked away and glared at Saleh.
It was clear which side Jets fans were taking in the coach-quarterback debate, with plenty of “Aaron Rodgers” calls erupting in the second half.
The Jets just aren't going to win unless something strange happens.
Aside from the odd exchange between Saleh and Rodgers, it was a good night for the Jets.
MetLife was buzzing with pregame introductions that were reminiscent of last year's season opener, with Rodgers again being introduced last to raucous applause.
