Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick released an ad on Thursday attacking Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) for his support of Vice President Kamala Harris and her zero-tolerance policies.
Advertisement “Switched” Focus Regarding the endorsement of McCormick by the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the organization declined to endorse Casey in the 2024 election, despite endorsing Casey in his last reelection campaign.
“Another night of tragedy in Philadelphia, one of the most dangerous cities in America. And with Kamala Harris it's only going to be worse,” the narrator says in the ad.
The ad cites Harris as saying in 2020 that “the idea that the key to safety is putting more police on the streets is misguided.”
“Bob Casey is on her side. He's a weakling… I'm on the side of the police,” McCormick says in the ad.
“We switched from Casey to McCormick, you should too,” the officer added.
The Pennsylvania State Police Association also endorsed McCormick over Casey.

Harris is not the only official to attack law enforcement during the nationwide protests that erupted in 2020 following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police.
Casey said,Black Lives MatterOn June 8, 2020, he posted on Twitter (now X) that he “proudly stand in solidarity with the Mayor of Lancaster, the NAACP, and other community leaders against systemic racism and police brutality in America.”
In March, police officials condemned the support for Casey from the anti-police group Pennsylvania Indivisible, calling it “alarming and extremely dangerous.”
