The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed suit Friday against three major pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) for engaging in anticompetitive practices that “artificially” inflate insulin list prices while boosting profits. The commission's lawsuit targets CVS Caremark Rx, Cigna's Express Scripts and UnitedHealth's OptumRx, which together manage about 80% of prescriptions in the United States.
