On CNN's “The Lead” on Friday, Keisha Lance Bottoms, a senior adviser to the Harris-Waltz campaign, was asked why Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, a potential 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, hasn't given more interviews, saying that while Harris has given some, “she's a very busy person” and speaks about her policies in other formats.
host Jake Tapper asked.[S]”He doesn't give interviews regularly and doesn't answer questions from the press, certainly not to the extent that his counterpart, Donald Trump, does. Why doesn't she give more interviews to talk about policy and answer questions that voters have about her policies or her changing views on some of those policies?”
Bottoms responded, “Jake, she's being interviewed. We would love to see her being interviewed on CNN every day. Or maybe you would too. She's a very busy person. She's the vice president and she's the candidate. We heard her today share her views on these policies. It may not be in the format that the media prefers. She may not be sitting down and doing a one-on-one interview, but we heard her today in Georgia talk about her position on reproductive freedom and how she would use the power of her pen to ensure that those freedoms are protected if she is elected president of the United States. This is a very big debate across the country. Here in Georgia specifically, we have a six-week abortion ban in place and we've had two news stories this week of women dying, mothers dying because of that six-week abortion ban.”
