The Philadelphia Eagles came away with a late win, but star receiver DeVonta Smith suffered a scary injury when his helmet flew off and he was sidelined with a concussion.
In the second half, Smith caught a pass from Jalen Hurts with multiple New Orleans Saints players trying to tackle him, but was initially unable to bring him down.
As they continued to try to wrestle Smith to the ground, and Smith was still moving his feet, defensive lineman Christian Boyd struck Smith in the blind side with a helmet-to-helmet collision, blowing Smith's helmet off his head.

It was a scary situation in which no flag was issued on the field for helmet-to-helmet contact, sparking outrage on social media from fans who believed it was a “dirty” hit, while some felt Smith should never have been involved in the incident in the first place, as the advance was achieved by Smith running backwards and other Saints players attempting to tackle him.
Smith was seen lying on the turf after being shot in the head with a drill, and remained there for several minutes as players and coaches knelt on the field, hoping that all would be well.
Smith walked to the sideline under his own power and was then tested for a concussion.

“Slim Reaper,” as he is known to Eagles fans, finished the game with seven catches for 79 yards.
This is a significant injury for Philadelphia, which already entered the game without receiver AJ Brown for the second straight week, who is nursing a hamstring injury.

It remains to be seen whether Smith will clear the NFL's concussion protocol in time for next week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team that beat him in last year's wild-card game.
With Smith out, Hurts turned to other receivers such as tight end Dallas Goedert, who led the game with 10 catches for 170 yards, and Jahan Dotson, who finally scored in the fourth quarter.
The winning point came on the two-minute warning play, when tight end Hurts was left alone across the field before completing a 61-yard catch-and-run to the New Orleans 4-yard line on third down and 16.
After dropping a crucial pass in the Eagles' stunned visit to Philadelphia on Monday against the Atlanta Falcons, Saquon Barkley raced into the end zone on the next play to give the Eagles the lead. He added two more points on the conversion.
