Travis Kelce played little role in the Chiefs' three-game winning streak to open the 2024 NFL season.
The All-Pro tight end looked downcast when NBC cameras caught him sitting on the bench before halftime with the Falcons leading 14-10 against Kansas City.
Kelce, who had limited production in the passing game in Kansas City's first two games, caught five passes for 30 yards in the Chiefs' 22-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday night in Atlanta.
The three-time Super Bowl champion, known for his cheerful personality, was seen rubbing his eyes, looking down and gazing into the distance.
He currently has eight catches for 69 yards and zero touchdowns.
Kelce, in his 12th NFL season, was once again outplayed by second-year wide receiver Rushe Rice, who caught one of Patrick Mahomes' two touchdown passes.
Mahomes targeted Rice heavily during the Chiefs' last-minute 26-25 win over the Bengals on Sept. 15 in Week 2.
The 34-year-old Kelce had just one catch for five yards against the Bengals, and his 41-yard pass in the fourth quarter was called back for holding by Kingsley Suamataia.
He had three catches for 34 yards in the Chiefs' home opener against the Ravens.
He's on pace for just 391 receiving yards this season following his performance on Sunday, which came without his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, in the stands for the first two games of the season.
Kelce spoke about his slow start on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, after the second week of the season.
“I often found myself getting really angry and losing my cool when I wasn't successful, knowing that I demanded it of myself. I like to play the game with a very high level of accountability, so it's hard for me to deal with mediocre performances and the statistics that represent them.” Kelsey said Last Wednesday.
The Chiefs (3-0) will face the Chargers (2-1) in Los Angeles on Sept. 29.
