The ball moved from midfield to the 49ers' 25-yard line, where Rams running back Kyren Williams ran another six yards to set up Joshua Carty for a turnaround field goal.

Los Angeles won the game 27-24.

Rams head coach Sean McVay rushed to the press box with reporters and offered a two-word comment on what happened in the final minute of the game.

“Oh my goodness,” he said.

“… Our team has done a great job. We've just got to keep fighting. This team has grit. This team has tenacity. It's only one game, but I'm really proud of them,” McVay continued.

Los Angeles scored 13 points in the fourth quarter and, without stars Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel, withstood stellar performances from quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Jauan Jennings to pull off an epic win.

Purdy was 22 of 30 for 292 yards and three touchdown passes. Jennings had 11 catches for 175 yards and caught all of Purdy's touchdown passes. Jennings has only two touchdown catches in the past two seasons.

Stafford, a veteran with a Super Bowl championship, showed resilience, finishing with 221 passing yards and two touchdown passes, while Williams also had two rushing touchdowns.
