“Being in nature takes you outside of your comfort zone,” Grylls said Friday at ChosenCon in Orlando.
“I've always thought that the real star of all of this is wildness, to be honest with you,” he told fans. “Wildness gets me the job I do. Wildness opens people up. When we adventure together for a day or so, it creates a vulnerability and connection with people that you never get in a performance setting or a red carpet or a talk show.”
“We're going to face some fears together, we're going to get through some hard times, we're going to share our struggles. … What was it like at the beginning? Did you ever imagine something like this would happen? What has the family's journey been like? Things that we all really want to know about the characters and the stars that we know and love,” he said. “… You're going to love these episodes and the insight into these beautiful human beings that are part of the cast. … Let's enjoy.”

“Growing up as a kid, I think the only thing I was good at in life was jumping off things or climbing things. I was always covered in mud,” he said, laughing. “…I thank God I have a job that I love. It's never felt like work.
