Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, has been crisscrossing the country to attend re-election campaign fundraisers with Democratic allies in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and elsewhere.
Willis traveled to Washington, DC earlier this month to attend his own 2024 re-election fundraiser on September 13th.
“Donations up to $3,300 would be greatly appreciated,” the invitation read.
Willis also led a panel with Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas during the annual Congressional Black Caucus Weekend in Washington, D.C., discussing ways to “fight back against MAGA.”
Willis continued his fundraising efforts last week, hosting another “re-election fundraising reception” in Los Angeles on September 17th.

The event attracted various levels of donations.
“Team Fani” donors were asked to donate $101, “Ally” donors $250, “Partner” donors $500 and “Supporter” donors $1,000, up to a maximum donation of $3,300.
Willis had been subpoenaed to testify before a Georgia Senate Select Committee on Investigations on September 13.
The committee was holding the hearing as part of its investigation into allegations that Willis profited from the prosecution of former President Donald Trump and conspired with Democratic Party officials to prosecute the former president.

The subpoena compelled Willis to testify and also to produce documents related to the investigation and his relationship with former special counsel Nathan Wade, who reportedly had an “inappropriate relationship” with Willis, whom he hired to help with the case against Trump and who later resigned.
Willis filed an emergency motion to block a subpoena that would have forced him to testify before a Georgia Senate committee.
But a Fulton County judge denied her motion.
While in Washington, D.C., Willis also headlined a panel discussion at the annual Black Congressional Caucus Weekend alongside Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas, where they discussed ways to “fight back against MAGA.”

Further fundraisers for Willis were held in Houston on Friday and Sunday.
“Instead of doing her job, Fani Willis is crisscrossing the country raising money and fraternizing with radical allies in California and Washington, abandoning her oath to protect the families and laws of Fulton County,” Greater Georgia Chairwoman and former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler told Fox News Digital.
“Time and time again, she has put her own financial and political gain above serving the American people,” Loeffler said. “No amount of Democratic money can hide the fact that she is only fighting for herself.”
Georgia judge dismisses two criminal charges against Trump in Fani Willis' 2020 election interference case
Loeffler launched Greater Georgia in 2021, the only group in the state working to oust Willis ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
The conservative advocacy group launched a $100,000 ad campaign against Willis earlier this month aimed at exposing his “failures” ahead of Election Day.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee dismissed two criminal counts in Willis' Georgia 2020 election interference lawsuit against Trump, ruling that Georgia prosecutors did not have the authority to pursue charges related to allegedly filing false documents in federal court.
Earlier this year, McAfee dismissed six other charges against Trump, saying Willis had not alleged enough detail.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Georgia Court of Appeals in June stayed the proceedings until it hears a case to disbar Willis in October.

The Georgia Court of Appeals announced it would hear Trump's argument to disqualify Willis on Dec. 5, one month after the 2024 presidential election.
But in a separate ruling earlier this month, McAfee upheld organized crime charges in the case that were brought against all of the defendants.
