7 in 10 worried about politically motivated violence after election: Survey

Seven in 10 voters are concerned about politically motivated violence after the 2024 presidential election. A new poll was found.

A Quinnipiac University poll found that 73% of voters were concerned about the possibility of “politically motivated violence following the results of the 2024 presidential election.” Only about 27% said they were little or not concerned at all.

President Biden said last month that he was not convinced there would be a peaceful transfer of power if former President Trump lost the next election.

“If Trump wins, no, I have no confidence at all. I mean, if Trump loses, I have no confidence at all,” Biden said in an interview at the time.

Rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to stop the certification of the election results after Trump lost the presidential election in 2020. Trump has consistently claimed, without evidence, that Biden's 2020 victory was fraudulent or stolen.

The Quinnipiac University poll also found that Trump has the support of 48 percent of voters, while Vice President Harris has the support of 47 percent.
