Trump prays on stage, thanks God for saving him in two assassination attempts

Former President Donald Trump prayed onstage as a televangelist during a campaign stop in Georgia on Tuesday, thanking God for saving him from two assassination attempts in recent weeks.

“It was a blessing,” the 78-year-old said in a speech in Savannah, recalling the July 13 assassination attempt at a rally in Balter, Pennsylvania.

“But maybe it's just bad luck.”

The 45th President then pointed to the sky and said, “It's over there,” before mouthing “thank you” and clasping his hands together.

President Trump was shot in the right ear by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, who also killed rally attendee Corey Comparatore and injured two others.

“My two [adult] “My sons are great shots and they said, 'Dad, there's no way a bad shooter could miss that gun at 130 yards,'” Trump told supporters.

The former president once again praised the immigration graph he looked at seconds before Crooks opened fire, saying it prevented more serious injuries or deaths.

“I have a chart that I love all time,” Trump said.

“I love that chart so much, I sleep with it every night. And I kiss it,” he continued, giving it an open-mouth fake kiss.

“If I hadn't looked to the right, I wouldn't be here with you today, I guarantee you that,” Trump added as the crowd cheered.

The Republican candidate also spoke about a second assassination attempt that took place on September 15 at the golf course that bears his name in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, fled the scene after a Secret Service agent spotted Routh's gun barrel protruding from bushes on the sixth green and fired a shot.

“This man [the agent] “There was no match, but he walked down the middle of the fairway, and he looked across, and what did he see?” Trump recalled.

“He saw a rifle, it was just a part of a very large weapon and you could see the barrel sticking out through some very dense shrubs.

“So that's where God had his eye, too. He needed some really sharp people.”

“They're only going after the president who matters,” Trump concluded.

“We have a significant impact. We're going to have an even more significant impact because we're doing things that nobody has done before in this country.”
