A former New York City college art professor who notoriously held a machete to a newspaper reporter's throat was caught yelling “I'm going to slit the professor's throat” at an anti-Israel rally last week.
Shereen Rodriguez, who taught at Hunter College and the Cooper Union School of Art, spoke to a crowd outside the Brooklyn Museum on Friday. New York Post Reported.
“Our ancestors … dreamed of slitting their masters' throats,” Rodriguez yells in the video, wearing a T-shirt that reads “POLICE KILL PEOPLE” in large letters.
“Our ancestors were horrified to see Black, Latino, Indigenous, immigrant children and Muslims on NYPD slave patrols. [inaudible] “Plantation supervisors in prisons and jails are also concerned about this,” she said.

Video footage of the rally showed the crowd chanting their slogans and applauding when Rodriguez finished speaking.
Rodriguez was fired from Hunter College in 2023 after he was seen on video running out of his apartment into the hallway and holding a machete to the throat of veteran New York Post reporter Reuben Fenton.
“Get away from my door or I'll chop you up with this machete!” she yelled while holding the knife to the reporter's throat, according to The Washington Post, according to Fenton.

The reporter was seeking comment after Rodriguez was caught on camera lashing out at students at a table containing anti-abortion materials, calling the materials “fucking propaganda” and throwing items that were on display.
According to the NYPD, Rodriguez lunged at Fenton, then chased him down the street and with a machete.
She eventually pleaded guilty to harassment and intimidation and was ordered to undergo 13 months of behavioral therapy.

Rodriguez was quickly fired from Hunter College, and in an email to students she blamed her firing on “fascism,” according to an Instagram post from Cooper Union's Students for Palestine Justice chapter.
A few months later, Rodriguez was fired from his teaching position at Cooper Union for making anti-Israel comments while participating in a panel calling for divestment from the Jewish state.
