UNLV is already feeling the effects of quarterback Matthew Sulka's departure at sportsbooks.
Earlier this week, they were listed as 4.5-point favorites over the Fresno State Bulldogs on ESPN BET, but are now mostly projected as 1-point favorites despite holding home-field advantage.
The Rebels briefly found themselves behind Wednesday before the lines adjusted in their favor. From ESPN.
The game's total points also dropped across most sportsbooks from 52.5 to 48.5 as of Wednesday afternoon.
UNLV is off to its first 3-0 start in 30 years, thanks in large part to Sulka's play.
The senior playmaker completed 21 of 48 passes for 318 yards, six touchdowns and one interception for the Rebels before announcing his departure on Tuesday.
Sulka suggested his decision was over a non-immigrant dispute, with Las Vegas reporter Paloma Villicana reporting that he “was offered more money as a transfer fee.”
“I committed to UNLV based on certain explanations that were not kept after I enrolled,” Sulka wrote to X. “Despite discussions, it has become clear that these commitments will not be fulfilled in the future. I wish my teammates the best of luck this season and the program continued success.”
UNLV's overall season outlook also worsened with Sulka's departure.
