President Donald J. Trump has met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, despite previous reports that they would not.

On Friday morning, the two sat together to discuss President Trump's position on the war in Eastern Europe.
Zelenskiy said it was important to share all steps with Trump so he could make a decision after the election if he were to take back the White House.
President Trump said his new administration will work diligently with both countries to end the war, adding that the dire situation must end.

Zelenskiy said he had a “fruitful” meeting with Trump. He added that the two share a “common view that the war in Ukraine must be stopped.”
