The Kansas City Chiefs await the results of an MRI, but feared star receiver Lachie Rice, who had a huge collision with Patrick Mahomes in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers, could be out for the season.
Rice, who was ejected from Sunday's game after hitting his right knee during a tackle by Mahomes for an interception, is at risk of tearing his ACL, according to multiple reports.
And Rice's reaction to the injury was similar when it occurred in the first quarter.

The quarterback also tried to stop things after Mahomes was picked off by Christian Fulton, but the star receiver was just trying to limit the damage. But when Mahomes flew low to hit Fulton, he made contact with Rice instead, and his top target wasn't expecting that.
Rice soon collapsed in pain and was first helped to the sideline before a medical cart came and took him to the locker room.

He was lying on the cart with a towel over his face and a hand on his head, showing his raw emotion that he knew something was wrong.
“Not good,” Reid said on CBS at halftime when asked about Rice. After the game, he also spoke gloomily about the receiver's future for the 2024 season.
“I feel terrible for Mr. Lachy,” he said. “…We will do our best.”

The Chiefs will have Rice undergo an MRI scan on Monday, which is expected to confirm the diagnosis.
This will be a huge loss for the Chiefs. The Chiefs are already without Hollywood Brown this season, as he suffered a season-ending injury before joining his new team.
Kansas City is also without star running back Isaiah Pacheco for several weeks after breaking his fibula in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Rice's return to the NFL field is also uncertain due to off-field issues. He is awaiting trial on several charges stemming from a high-speed car crash on a Texas highway in March. Rice could face NFL disciplinary action through the legal process.

Rice, who had no catches in the game, finished the season with 24 receptions for 288 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
