Jets’ Aaron Rodgers, Robert Saleh appear to differ on what issues plaguing offense

Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh appeared to have a disagreement over the rhythm of the hard count, resulting in several false start penalties Sunday.

It looked like New York was starting to get better, but the Jets lost 10-9 to the Denver Broncos. Rodgers completed 24-of-42 for 225 passing yards and a QB rating of 31.8. He was sacked five times and the team was unable to find the end zone.

“We have to find out if we are strong enough and ready for all rhythms,” Saleh said after the match. SNY TV. “Cadence hasn't been an issue all camp. I felt like our strategy was going pretty well. Obviously we took a big step back today.”

Mr. Rogers disagreed.

“That's one way,” Rogers said. “The other way is to hold them accountable. I mean, there was nothing wrong with us. We got off to a false start once.” Morgan [Moses] I think there was one false start to get to this point.

“It's a weapon. We use it every day in practice. We rarely get off to false starts. And to have five today…Yeah, it's like an outlier. We use it every day in practice. I don't know if we need to make any major changes to the unusual game. ”

Saleh appears to have retracted his comments after the match.

“We're always going to push the envelope with rhythm. Always,” he told reporters Monday. Via ESPN. “But as far as operations, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, the communication that's going on there, that's something we can continue to look at and sort out.

“But from a rhythmic perspective, it's part of what makes us who we are, and we're always going to keep pushing the limits of that.”

One of the hallmarks of Rodgers' career is his ability to draw defenders offside and win so-called “free plays”.

On Sunday, New York had five pre-snap penalties on offense. The team was given a total of 15 penalties.
