Netanyahu’s Coalition Back to Majority, First Time Since Oct. 7

If elections were held today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition government would have an even stronger majority, according to a new poll reported by Israel's Channel 14 and conducted by Direct Polls.

According to the latest polls, if elections were held now, Netanyahu's Likud party would win 31 seats in the Knesset, while Benny Gantz's Homeland Resilience Party would win 15 seats. Israel Beiteinu, 15, of Avigdor Liberman. Shas of Arie Deli, 15 years old. Yair Golan, The Democrats, 10. Yesh Atid, 9, of opposition leader Yair Lapid. The difference between Netanyahu's right-wing religious bloc and Lapid Gantz's center-left bloc is 61 seats to 49, with 10 of those seats supported by two Arab parties.

The Israeli parliament has 120 members. Therefore, 61 seats are required to achieve a majority.

The poll results came during a week in which Netanyahu's former rival, Gideon Saar, announced his support. entered Netanyahu government as minister without portfolio. The poll was conducted before the event.

Prime Minister Netanyahu suffered a political blow after the Oct. 7 Hamast terrorist attack. But he has won the country's respect for his management of the war since then and for his careful opposition to the Biden administration's efforts to prevent Israel from winning.

Israel's shocking success in the war against Hezbollah in Lebanon also contributed to Netanyahu's resurgence in popularity.
