Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) faced off against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) in the vice presidential debate in New York City on Tuesday night. In an unusual civil act by modern standards, the two men held differing visions for America, traded arguments and demonstrated, or attempted to demonstrate, their values to their respective vice presidential candidates.
Despite the efforts of CBS News hosts to help Mr. Walz and hinder Mr. Vance, it quickly became clear to even liberal outspoken voters that the Democratic governor was seriously underdogs.
Fellow CNN panelist David Urban responded to Van Jones calling Vance “smooth, smooth, smooth” after the debate.

said CNN, “I thought this was a master class. Just an incredible performance. Just getting the facts right.”

“We have a tough job here. We have to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver the take-home pay increase. Of course he did,” Vance said during the debate.
“We need to pretend that Donald Trump didn't bring down inflation. Of course he did,” the senator continued. “And we must defend Kamala Harris’ terrible economic record, which has made gas, food and housing unaffordable for Americans.”
In addition to defending Trump's record and contrasting the vice presidential candidate's successes with Harris' failures, Vance, who maintained a chipper tone throughout, blasted Walz for much of the debate.
Waltz often proved unable to hide his panic, such as when Vance raised the issue of censorship.

I wrote“The project, which embraces nationalism, protectionism, welfare chauvinism, and a kind of communitarian social conservatism, was stalled two years ago by candidates like Blake Masters and Vance himself. Vance was able to manipulate the project to seem almost moderate and rational.
