Harris campaign ad highlights Vance ‘damning non-answer’ on 2020 election

Vice President Harris' campaign released an ad Wednesday morning criticizing Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) over her answers about the 2020 election during the vice presidential debate.

The title of the new digital ad is “J.D. Vance’s terrible non-answer.” This is part of the Harris campaign's $370 million paid media booking for the fall. The campaign plans to release a series of ads highlighting moments from the vice presidential debate.

The 30-second ad captures the moment during the debate when Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) asked Vance whether former President Trump lost the 2020 election.

Vance responded, “Tim, I'm focused on the future.”

“That's a complete non-answer,” Walz said.

The ad then shows images of the riot that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“America, I think we're making a really clear choice about who respects democracy and who respects Donald Trump,” Walz said during the debate.

Walz's pressure on Vance in the 2020 election was one of the best moments of the gubernatorial debate, which was otherwise policy-focused and civil, with both men They were discussing immigration, abortion, and the economy.

The Harris campaign praised Walz's performance after the debate and repeatedly called for another presidential debate between Harris and Trump. Trump again rejected the invitation, saying he would “never do it again.”
