The legendary Daniel Day-Lewis has come out of retirement to star in a feature film directed by his son Ronan.
Lewis retired from Hollywood after 2017's “Phantom Thread,'' and this will be his first official appearance in seven years. The father-son duo has teamed up to co-write the screenplay for “Anemone,” which will be released as a Focus Features and Plan B movie, according to a report. hollywood reporter Published on Tuesday. Peter Kujowski, Chairman of Focus Features, said: “We couldn't be more excited to partner with such an outstanding visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on our first feature film, with Daniel Day-Lewis as our creative collaborator. “No,” he said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lewis and his son asked cinematographer Ben Fordesman, costume designer Jane Petrie, and production designer Chris Oddie to join the creative team for Anemone.

Universal Pictures International will distribute the film internationally for Focus.
Artistic talent seems to run in the family. Day-Lewis is a three-time Oscar winner and is widely regarded as one of Hollywood's best actors. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his work in “My Left Foot,'' “There Will Be Blood,'' and “Lincoln.'' He won Oscars for “In the Name of the Father,” “Gangs of New York” and “Phantom Thread.” His 26-year-old son is a filmmaker and painter. It's unclear whether this means Day-Lewis has officially come out of retirement with plans to take on other roles in Hollywood, or if this means he's making a brief return to the industry just for this particular film. . The release date of “Anemone” has not been determined.
