Today's topic revolves around this week's featured event, the DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and its combinations.
When the tournament announced the brackets on Tuesday, it was a surprise to see PGA Tour's Jay Monaghan and LIV Golf's Yasir Al Rumayan together in the first round. Monaghan will be paired with Billy Horschel, while Al Rumayan's partner is LIV Golf's Dean Burmester.
Many will probably wonder if tournament officials did this on purpose, but it seems unlikely they will have much to say after Horschel's comments about this matchup.
Since the PGA Tour and LIV Golf announced a potential deal over a year ago on June 6, 2023, there has been a lot of news surrounding them.

This combination, while strange, could be an optimistic one for the future of golf, as many business deals are made on golf courses. No one knows what will happen between the two leaders, even though Horschel ended the deal.
Rory McIlroy and his father, Jerry, are also on the field. The first day at Carnoustie will be against LIV's Louis Oosthuizen and Johan Rupert.
Then, in the second round at Kingsburn, they faced Monaghan and Horschel. The third round will get even more interesting as they will face Al Rumayyan and Burmester. Two of the most prominent players on the PGA Tour will play with the LIV Golf boss.
It is hoped that this will lead to further discussions towards concluding a contract between the two golf entities.
That's not the only interesting combination.
Robert McIntyre will play alongside his father, Dougie, who caddied for him when he won the RBC Canadian Open. They will face Shane Lawrie and Gerry McManus in the first round at Carnoustie. It's always fun to watch two European Ryder Cup members play.
Tommy Fleetwood and his partner Ogden Phipps II will perform alongside Brooks Koepka and Brian Thompson. It is also open in Carnoustie.
Matt Wallace will face Taylor Gooch in the first round. Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick and his mother Sue will take on Tyrrell Hatton and Jeff Hatton.
