“David Hogg is a good friend of mine,” Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz said Thursday in response to questions from reporters.
Mr. Hogg is well known as a gun control activist, and Mr. Walz supports a number of gun control measures, including a ban on “assault weapons,” universal background checks, and red flag laws.
During Tuesday's vice presidential debate, Walz advocated for stricter gun laws and, when questioned by the moderator, admitted that he supports a ban on “assault weapons.”
When Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance brought up the option of improving mental health care instead of pursuing gun control, Walz shifted his focus to mental health and said, “Sometimes guns are the problem.” I complied.
He added, “It's just guns.”
