Michael Kay eviscerates New Yorkers supporting both Mets, Yankees

Michael Kay attacked certain New Yorkers.

The Yankees play-by-play announcer did not speak during Friday's episode of ESPN Radio's “The Michael Kay Show.” Support New Yorkers rooting for both of the city's baseball teams in the MLB playoffs.

“Is fandom different now?” Kay asked co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg during the broadcast. “If you're a Yankees fan, why do you root for the Mets?” Are you crazy? ”

Kay later added, “I can't root for both!”

Rosenberg asked Kaye why he couldn't root for both teams, but the organizers later responded.

“All of a sudden, Yankees and Mets fans, Kumbaya. I'm not buying it!” Kaye said. “And those people aren't real Yankees fans. If they're just enjoying the Mets winning big games, they're not real fans!”

Jerry Ferrara is an actor known for his role in HBO's “Entourage.” Posted on social media – As a Yankee fan – I'm rooting for the Mets vs. Phillies game in the NLDS.

But Ferrara, a fellow Knicks fan, has his own reasons.

“I'm not a Mets fan, I'm a Yankees fan, but for the first time in my life I could honestly say I'm rooting for the Mets in the next round,” he said. “This is strictly my disgust with Philadelphia fans after the Knicks vs. I don't want that either. So, Let's Go Mets is only 1 round.

Both the Mets and Yankees begin their Division Series trips on Saturday.
