NY ex-Gov. David Paterson, stepson NYC attackers arrested: NYPD

Two teens have been charged in connection with the attack on former Gov. David Paterson and his son-in-law, officials said.

The boys and their parents went to police on Saturday night, less than 24 hours after Patterson and his son-in-law, Anthony Chester Sliwa, were attacked as they walked their dog on the Upper East Side on Friday night. I turned myself in.

Police sources said the attackers were charged with second-degree assault.

A third teenager who spoke to police along with the suspect was not charged because he did not attack Mr Sliwa or the blind former governor.

Officials said Patterson, 70, and Sliwa, 20, encountered a group of teens climbing the fire escape on Second Avenue near East 96th Street and told them to stop. When he gave the instructions, he was attacked.
