Gotham FC extends unbeaten streak with win over Bay FC

Gotham FC defeated visiting Bay FC 5-1 on Saturday night in Harrison, New Jersey, led by Esther Gonzalez's two goals in three minutes.

With the win, Gotham (14-4-5, 47 points) extended its unbeaten streak to four games and maintained third place in the NWSL standings.

Bay FC (9-13-1, 28 points) has lost two of its past three games but remains in the playoffs for the eighth and final time.

Gotham took the lead in the 9th minute with a penalty by Jenna Neiswonger, and Asisat Oshoala scored the equalizing goal for Bay FC in the 18th minute.

Rose Lavelle scored the equalizer in the 70th minute, and Gonzalez found the back of the net in the 72nd and 74th minutes.

Gotham added another point in the 84th minute by CeCe Kizer.

Gotham had 21 total shots, nine of which were on target.

Gonzalez also assisted on LaBelle's goal.

She has six goals and four assists this season.
