Don Johnson met the mother of his eldest son in a rather unconventional way.
In an interview with people magazineThe “Miami Vice” star recalled meeting model and actress Patti d'Arbanville “while working on a film in New York and going to Andy Warhol's factory.”
“I walked in and there, standing completely naked on the table, was my oldest son's mother. I think she was posing for the first cover photo of Interview.” Magazine,” he continued, “she was so beautiful and seductive.”
Johnson was previously briefly married to Melanie Griffiths in 1976 when he was 18 after first meeting her when she was 14. They divorced in November of the same year.

During that vacation, Johnson and Durbanville met again at a restaurant and became a couple in 1981, according to a 1984 interview with the magazine. There, Johnson arrived with his girlfriend at the time, Tanya Tucker, but left with Durbanville.
“She moved in that night,” he told the outlet at the time. “And we spent about eight days in bed. The houseboy kept us with food and water.”

Durbanville became pregnant with a son, Jesse, and they mutually agreed not to marry.
“I can't commit to marriage right now,” he told her, to which Ms. D'Arbanville replied, “Neither do I.”

Fatherhood and their relationship helped Johnson quit drugs and alcohol.
“One morning I walked into the breakfast room,” he said in a 1984 interview. “The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Patty was feeding the baby. I stumbled in, sat down, and looked at them, and she looked at me, and I knew if I didn't do something, she was going to die.''As I was about to leave, I said, “Patty, I'm a drunk and a drug addict, so I'm going to do something about it.'' ”
In 1985, he had his breakout role in Miami Vice, but a year later, in 1986, he parted ways with Durbanville for good.
Johnson married Griffith for the second time in 1989, and they were together until 1996. People also reported that Johnson adopted Griffith's son, Alexander Bauer, from her relationship with actor Stephen Bauer.

After splitting from Griffith, the “Doctor Odyssey” star married Kelly Pfleger in 1999. The couple has three children: Atherton Grace, Jasper, and Deacon.
