Padres-Dodgers Game 2 delayed after fans hurl objects onto field

Things got ugly Sunday in Dodger vs. Padres Game 2 at Dodger Stadium, and not only did San Diego beat Los Angeles on the field.

Dodgers fans began throwing objects at Padres outfielders Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr. before the bottom of the seventh inning.

First, a fan started throwing baseballs at Profar in the left field seats, which enraged Profar.

He needed to be held back by his teammates until he calmed down.

Profar was also seen having a very lively conversation with the referee.

The stadium's public address announcer told fans not to throw anything on the field.

Los Angeles fans then began throwing trash at the right field seats near where Tatis was standing.

ESPN reported “Nearly 20 security guards were standing along the foul line” as they tried to restore order inside the stadium.

Stadium security tried to determine who the troublemaker was, but According to KTLAthe delay in action lasted approximately 12 minutes.

Both Profar and Tatis also spent moments of the game interacting with fans.

In the bottom of the first inning, Profar reached into the stands and made a catch in left field, robbing Mookie Betts of a home run.

While Betts was circling the bases thinking he had hit a home run, Profar looked at some fans, but Profar revealed that he had actually hit a glove.

Tatis hit a home run early in the game, and was seen dancing in the right field seats as he took in the boos of Dodgers fans.

The Padres defeated the Dodgers 10-2, tying the series at 1-1.
