Jets receive good news after Aaron Rodgers injury scare

Aaron Rodgers is “fine” and Jets fans should hold their breath.

The Jets' 40-year-old quarterback revealed after Sunday's loss to the Vikings that he was suffering from an ankle sprain, but head coach Robert Saleh confirmed the diagnosis on Monday.

“All preliminary information indicates that he is OK,” Saleh said.

The Jets have an extra day to prepare for an unlikely championship showdown with the AFC East rival Bills on Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

Playing East Rutherford against the Bills is the same situation Rodgers suffered in the 2023 season opener when he tore his ACL.

Rodgers was leading the Jets to a 17-point comeback in a 23-17 loss to Minnesota, but he limped through the fourth quarter.

“I spoke to him (Sunday) night,” Saleh said. “He's fine. Of course he's a little excited, but he feels good.”

Rodgers totaled 25 hits and eight sacks in back-to-back losses to the Broncos and Vikings.

He was already dealing with a knee that was “slightly swollen” due to “wear and tear” entering Sunday's game.

Cornerback Michael Carter will undergo further evaluation for a hamstring injury, Saleh said.
