Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris has finally launched a media blitz of friendly interviews after her party began to worry about its lack of visibility in the media.
Since launching his campaign, the vice president has continued to avoid national press coverage and tough interviews this week as he embarks on a nontraditional media tour. Democrats, including some of the vice president's own staff, politiko Harris' strategy of avoiding the media and light campaign schedule could backfire in the final weeks of the campaign. Since that panic, Harris has appeared on Alex Cooper's “Call Her Daddy” and will also appear this week on “60 Minutes,” “The View,” “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and “The Howard Stern Show.” It's planned.
“These races are decathlons, and there are many events, and people want to test you, so you have to run all the events,” said former Obama adviser David Axelrod. he told Politico.
“This is the hardest oral exam on the planet for the toughest job, and some of it is just spontaneous – no town halls, no interviews of any kind, and no just friendly interviews. At OTR, You get to interact with people virtually and all of that is valuable. If I were her, I would do that,” he continued.
The vice president's conversation with Cooper, which aired on Sunday but was filmed in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, focused primarily on access to abortion, something Harris has frequently discussed throughout the administration. This is a topic that I have defended and spoken out about. (RELATED: Luke: As Hurricane Victims Suffer, Kamala Dedicates Time to Famous Podcast to Give Fellatio Advice to Girls)
Cooper told listeners that he arranged several different interviews for the sit-down with Harris, discussing whether to talk about issues such as the economy and fracking. The vice president has consistently flipped policy positions. The “Call Her Daddy” host said she ultimately landed on issues surrounding “women's bodies” and topics such as abortion. Cooper added that former President Donald Trump would also be welcome to appear on the podcast on the same topic.
Social media users and conservative pundits took to Twitter to slam Harris for the interview, criticizing the moment she and Cooper said there were no laws governing men's bodies.
“Draft. For example,” Daily Wire host Brett Cooper said. tweeted.
Political commentator Ryan Gardusky: “The correct answer is the draft'' I wrote.

Harris is scheduled to appear on “The View” on Tuesday, which just hosted President Joe Biden on Sept. 25. Whoopi Goldberg spoke passionately about Mr. Biden on ABC News' morning show, and was highly complimentary of the president.
“I'm telling you, you were ride or die for me,” Goldberg said. “Wherever you were going, I was going to go there too. What I meant by that is that you're probably going to spend four years and then try to figure out where to go with Kamala. Because I felt it.”
“That's what it took. And you did it. I just wanted to say thank you,” she added. “But thank you for everything you've done in my life.”
Colbert, who is also photographed with Harris, hosted fundraisers on Biden's behalf in 2020 and 2024. According to In the New York Times. Harris also supported Biden in the 2020 presidential race, and Stern gave what the NYT called a “warm” interview with the 81-year-old Biden in April before withdrawing from the White House race. Amid the vice president's fairly friendly media onslaught, her town halls with “60 Minutes” and Univision are two exceptions.
Univision's Enrique Acevedo will host two town halls with Harris and Trump. Acevedo was previously forced to defend his 2023 interview with Trump after liberals criticized it as “too lenient.” (Related: President Trump's upcoming Univision town hall host previously infuriated liberals by giving him a fair interview)
While Harris will be on a media tour, her running mate, Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will also make an appearance in person. Walz, who has been away from the airwaves since joining Harris on Ticket, appeared on Fox News on Sunday, appeared with the vice president on “60 Minutes,” appeared on ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and in the New York Times. I'm planning on appearing. reported. (Related: 'Witness Protection': Media-friendly Tim Walz has disappeared from the airwaves since joining Harris Ticket)
Harris' first sit-down interview came after she had avoided answering questions or interviews since beginning her presidential campaign in July. More than a month after the campaign began, the vice president finally faced questions about the policy reversal with CNN's Dana Bash. The vice president has made rare appearances on local media since then, but he gave his first solo national sit-down interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhl, defending Harris' lack of “clear” and “direct” answers.
“What she did there is kind of explain that it's complicated, right? We're a country of 330 million people. Our economy is complicated. Right? Just like the economy. Is the economy good or bad? It depends entirely on the situation. So tariffs work if used in the right places. And looking at that, she didn't give a clear and direct answer. “Some people might say, OK, because we're not talking about a clear or direct issue,” Ruhl said of Harris' failure to answer on tariffs.
