Mark Zuckerberg bought a family van. It's a modified Porsche SUV that can go from 0 to 60 mph in just over three seconds.
Billionaire Facebook CEO This was revealed in an Instagram post. Last weekend, he designed the first-ever custom Porsche minivan for his wife, Priscilla Chan.
“Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I was designing something that was bound to exist,” Zuckerberg wrote.
Chan replied: “They introduced a boost mode. For when you're late for drop off???”
Los Angeles-based West Coast Customs has converted a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT into a unique minivan with electric sliding doors and an extended frame.
It's unclear whether the luxury minivan has a third row, but captain seats can be seen in photos posted to the billionaire's Instagram account.
Zuckerberg did not reveal the technical specifications of the custom minivan, but said it was a modified Cayenne Turbo GT. It is a hybrid SUV equipped with an eight-cylinder, 650 horsepower engine and a top speed of 200 miles per hour on the track.
Zuckerberg, who normally owns a Cadillac CT5-V, said he also “threw in” a matching light gray Porsche 911 GT3 Touring to make the car a “personal” set.
The tech mogul may have designed the first Porsche minivan to hit the road, but the German automaker has toyed with the idea in the past.
The company built the Porsche Vision Rendienst in 2018, and the minivan model was kept secret for two years.
Rendienst, which means “racing service” in German, had a futuristic look with smooth edges, a steeply sloping windshield and grille inspired by the space shuttle, and a central lounge driver's seat. The minivan had two rows of seats and a bench in the back that could seat three people.
Zuckerberg's minivan has a more traditional design, with driver and passenger seats in the front and a familiar windshield and grille.
This is not the first lavish gift Zuckerberg has given Chan.
In August, Mr. Zuckerberg posted a photo of a giant garden statue resembling Mr. Chan that he had given to his wife. The statue depicts Chan the teal covered in what appears to be waves of liquid silver.
“Let us revive the Roman tradition of making carvings of wives.” Zuckerberg wrote in an Instagram post..
“The more I have, the better?” Chan replied with a heart emoji.
