Mr. Colbert and Mr. Harris both drank cans of beer and discussed music and the preliminary election, according to early recordings released to reporters. The interview is scheduled to air on CBS at 11:35 p.m.
Colbert asked Harris if Trump lost the 2020 election, and the vice president mentioned her rally.
“By the way, quite a few people showed up,” Harris said, listing Trump's various losses and calling him a “loser.”
“This is what happens when you drink beer,” she joked.
The late-night host also asked Harris about her favorite Bob Seger song, to which she replied, “Aretha or Eminem?”
Neither President Trump nor President Biden drink alcohol.
The beer came toward the end of the interview, after Colbert asked Harris about the accusations against Trump in journalist Bob Woodward's new book. Harris criticized Trump earlier Tuesday over reports that he sent a coronavirus test to Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2020, after the Trump campaign denied the story.
They also discussed the anniversary of Hurricane Helen on Oct. 7 and the upcoming Hurricane Milton, as well as her debate performance against Trump last month.
Colbert mentioned a moment during the debate when Harris rested her chin on her hand while Trump was speaking, and asked the vice president what she was thinking at that moment.
“Family TV, right? It starts with a W, and there's a letter in between, and the last letter is an F,” she replied.
Harris has been under a media onslaught this week. Before filming her interview with Colbert in New York City, she was interviewed by ABC's “The View” and SiriusXM's Howard Stern.
