A giant “Vote for Trump” sign lit up the sky in upstate New York on Monday night after a judge ruled the billboard was permissible, despite complaints from local Democrats. Ta.
Around 7:15 p.m. Monday, a crowd gathered to watch the 100-foot-tall “Vote for Trump” sign light up atop the Sticker Mule facility in Amsterdam, New York. Amsterdam is a city of approximately 18,000 people located approximately 55 miles northwest of Albany.
“Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, this sign will increase enthusiasm in your community.”
None of this would have happened if Montgomery County Supreme Court hadn't ruled just two hours ago. Judge Rebecca Slezak Sticker Mule CEO Anthony Constantino has lifted a restraining order against the billboard and the brains behind it.
Representatives from Sticker Mule apparently approached Amsterdam authorities in August about the planned campaign signage. However, company officials were told to obtain permits and several zoning changes before moving forward with the project, the New York Post reported.
The company's apparent failure to follow instructions led lawyers working with Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti (D) and other city officials to call the sign a “dangerous distraction” that impeded “traffic flow.” A lawsuit was filed on the basis that the They also said they were concerned about people stopping to take selfies with the “novelty sign”, which they said “could pose a risk of injury to other operators”. [sic] and/or passengers of the traveling vehicle,” the Post said.
These arguments failed to persuade Judge Slezak, who determined that the sign was far enough away from major thoroughfares that it did not pose any danger. This sign is clearly visible from the New York State Highway. WRGB he pointed out.
Slezak also gave the plaintiffs until Oct. 18 to refile the lawsuit, citing what was reportedly a clerical error.
“All I know is that there will be a party tonight and the lights will be turned on. There is no court order prohibiting lights and signs from being posted.” Sal FerlazzoConstantino's lawyer. “So it’s obviously a great win for Anthony and his team.”
Constantino, who heads a political action committee supporting former President Donald Trump's candidacy, cheered the decision as a victory for Trump and free speech.
Democrats “want to eliminate free speech and censor America, so this sign now means something bigger than I ever thought it would,” Constantino said. “…In America, I got my First Amendment right.”
“This is my building, and it's a beautiful sign. Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, this sign raises enthusiasm in the community,” he asserted.
