An Afghan man from Oklahoma who is accused of planning an election day terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State group has been working as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan, Fox News has learned.
A senior Biden administration official said authorities believe Nasir Ahmad Tauhedi, 27, became radicalized after arriving in the United States on September 9, 2021, weeks after US troops withdrew from Afghanistan. He said he was thinking about it.
he specially entered the United States immigrant visa (SIV) and is on parole pending adjudication of his immigration case, the Department of Homeland Security announced this week. These facts were disputed by the State Department.
Authorities later revealed that Tauhedi came to the United States on humanitarian parole and later applied for SIV status.

Humanitarian parole is a process by which Tauhedi was supposed to be detained in a third country for examination and testing and then airlifted to the United States.
After immigrating to the United States in 2021, he applied for and was approved for special immigration status, a path to a green card. The State Department this week denied DHS claims that Tauhedi arrived with an SIV because he had not finalized his status.
After DHS approved humanitarian parole in 2021, it is still unclear when the State Department approved SIV. Tauhedi applied for SIV status immediately after arriving in the United States.
Officials said there were no red flags that would prevent him from entering the United States.

“Afghan evacuees who sought admission to the United States were subject to multiple layers of vetting and scrutiny of intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism information. Action will be taken,” a DHS spokesperson told FOX News Digital.
After arriving in the U.S., investigators said Tauedi was responsible for the Pulse nightclub shooting, the 2015 San Bernardino attack, and the 2017 Halloween attack in which a man used a truck to kill and seriously injure eight people. Those involved in the incident believe that he has become radicalized like several past terrorist suspects. Several others represent ISIS on a lower Manhattan bike path.
Tauhedi was arrested Monday and is charged with conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and receiving a firearm for use in the commission of a felony or federal crime of terrorism.
In confiscated communications, Tauhedi is said to have suggested that an attack was planned to target a large rally on election day, when he and a boy were expected to die as martyrs. . The Justice Department said he was arrested after speaking with a confidential FBI informant.
