Hollywood horror master John Carpenter believes former President Donald Trump is like the mind-controlling alien creature from the 1988 film. they are alive.

It remains unclear why Carpenter believes Trump controls people through the mass media, as the media is almost completely against him. Carpenter then revived a tired Democratic talking point that Trump is a racist.
“It's just heartbreaking to see how much we've changed as a country,” he later added. “It’s the return of racism and xenophobia. Oh my God, that’s terrible, that’s terrible.
“I grew up in the South, so I'm very familiar with the Jim Crow South. And I knew it would never end. No matter what laws you passed. I know that such feelings remain in the hearts of many Southerners–not all, but many.
“But now I think it's been taken back by Trump, and it's scary. The world is really scary,” Carpenter said.
Neither Carpenter nor the podcast host bothered to mention that recent polls show that Trump has support among minorities, including black and Latino voters.
