At Least 27 Shot During Weekend in Mayor Johnson’s Chicago

At least 27 people were shot, five of them fatally, over the weekend in Mayor Brandon Johnson's (D) Chicago city.

Breitbart News reported that at least 20 people were shot between Friday and Sunday morning alone, two of whom died from their wounds.

Monday morning, ABC 7 noticed The total number of gunshot victims was at least 27, with three more fatalities.

One of the additional shootings occurred at 5:23 a.m. Sunday in the “7300 block of South Greenwood.” A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times and took himself to the hospital, where he died.

A few hours later, at 9:20 a.m., a woman was sitting in her car on Damen Street near McKinley Park Natural Area when a man with a gun approached her and opened fire, striking her multiple times. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
Just before noon Sunday, a driver was shot multiple times in the “400 block of West 87th Street.” The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
