Team Harris Weighs Damage Control over Interview Debacles

The Harris campaign is considering how to implement damage control measures to counter Vice President Kamala Harris' statements that she would not change “anything” from the past four years, a person familiar with the discussions said. Four people involved spoke to NBC News.

Harris' comments gave Republicans an opportunity to highlight Biden and Harris' accomplishments and strengthen their status as unchanged candidates.

Under his administration, costs increased by about 20% overall, Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas and Iran attacked Israel, illegal immigrants invaded the southern border, and the nation suffered a deadly Afghanistan withdrawal.

Harris, who once campaigned as a change agent, shattered that image in three interviews last week when she failed to convey how she was supposed to govern differently than President Joe Biden. Ta.

Breitbart News reported on Harris' missteps in three interviews here.

Internal discussions to distance Biden include releasing his medical records, restructuring his policy thinking and changing his position on the Hamas-Israel war, but not on the Ukraine-Russia war. Not so, NBC News reported. reported:

There are several more areas Harris could address, including the care economy and overall leadership style, but a final strategy has not yet been determined, according to people familiar with the discussions.

A senior Democratic official said Ms. Harris could further distance herself from Mr. Biden on the issue of the Israel-Hamas war.

Three people familiar with the talks said Harris is trying to distance herself somewhat from Biden and is likely to warn the White House before doing so.

Harris faces a catch-22. She can't campaign on policies that improve crime, inflation, and border security without undermining the Biden-Harris administration's policies, but she still needs the administration to justify her record and candidacy. policy should be promoted.
