Meghan McCain on Sunday slammed former ABC colleague Martha Raddatz over her interview with Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
Raddatz, 71, downplayed the takeover of an apartment by Venezuelan immigrant gang members in Aurora, Colo., and told Vance, 40, that “incidents” involving the ruthless gang Torren de Aragua were “limited to a small number of cases.” “I'm working on it,” he said.
McCain, 39, was incredulous as he was asked a series of questions by the “This Week” host.
“It's insane that Martha and her producers didn't realize how terrible her line of questioning would be to a normal person,” she said. I wrote to X. “She would feel differently if she lived next door to an apartment complex where Venezuelan gangs hang out.”
McCain, a former co-host of ABC's “The View,” added that Raddatz sounded “insane” during his interview with the Ohio senator.
“She looks like a psychopath. Like, totally psychotic,” McCain tweeted.
During the conversation, Vance seemed surprised and said to Raddatz: “Martha, can you hear yourself?”
“Venezuela gangs have taken over only a ‘handful of apartment complexes’ in America, and the problem is Donald Trump, not Kamala Harris’ open borders?” he continued.
“Martha, I think this interaction is very interesting because you seem more focused.” [on] “Instead of acknowledging the fact that America's apartment complexes are being taken over by gangs, they are belittling everything Donald Trump has said,” Vance added.
McCain is the daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). mocked former President Donald Trump She has thought so in the past, but recently she is upset that Vice President Kamala Harris is evoking her father's memory on the campaign trail.
“I know that Democrats want to rewrite history and transform my father into a fantasy in response to a political moment in which they need to desecrate his memory,” she said. I wrote to X last week. “But don't make me tell you what he actually said about Kamala Harris…”
“And consider this my final warning: I'm going to spill some tea,” she added.
