“Frasier,” a spinoff of “Cheers,” aired from 1993 to 2004 and was loved by many. So when it returned in 2023, “Frasier” fans were predictably excited.
The 1996 film “Independence Day” was a huge hit, and movie fans around the world were eager for a sequel. Its long-awaited sequel finally arrived in 2016 and generated a lot of interest among fans.
However, the ID4 sequel was a huge failure both with critics and at the box office. It seems that a second season of the “Frasier'' revival is in the works, but there isn't much talk about it, so even we big fans of “Cheers'' haven't asked whether the new show is good or not. And it's hidden behind streaming networks. We don't have it.
Importantly, not all returns result in wins. Sometimes they end up flat. Like “Frasier,” it can be almost invisible. Or it could be a complete disaster like Independence Day: Resurgence.
Ravens tight end Mark Andrews suffered a season-ending ankle injury in November last season. Returning this season, he was involved in a car accident and hit a speed bump during training camp.
Still, going into Week 1, he was ready. And fantasy managers were poised to once again enjoy the rich, consistent production he's provided for most of his career, right up until his injury in 2023.
However, instead, this season saw the return of “Frasier.” First, he was barely used in the opener, making just two catches for 14 yards on two targets. But…he missed the end of training camp, so a slow start was expected. no worries.
Things picked up in Week 2, hitting 4/51 on five targets. I'm on my way. He'll be back to his normal self in the next few games. However, over the next few games, he had just 0 catches and 0 yards on both targets.
He was as close to invisible as possible. He averaged 15 points per game ending last season, but averaged 3.1 points per week in PPR.
“The Matrix” was a breakthrough when it was released in 1999. Even the first sequel was still good, only for the third movie to be a huge flop in 2003. The fourth film was released in 2021, about 18 years later. Is it the red pill or the blue pill?
It fell flat. I relied too much on the bait of nostalgia. And it almost looked like a “Matrix” movie. Although the name is “Matrix”, it looks different.
The 2024 version of Mark Andrews will be the original Mark Andrews' “Matrix Resurrection.”
But wait! Are you saying…? Andrews is averaging 12.6 PPR in his past two fights. That's true, but that included his only touchdown of the season. Otherwise, he averaged just 9.6 points over the past two weeks.
He has scored one goal in six games. So if you need a TD result to be playable on your roster, that doesn't happen often. Even including his one goal this season, his weekly average is only 6.3 points.
It's now Week 6 and he's ranked as TE29 and won't miss any time. And that was during a season when the position was surprisingly weak. He leads his team's top producing tight end by nearly 20 fantasy points.
Look, almost all of us would like him to be in Top Gun: Maverick more than Dumb and Dumber Two, but there's no reason to believe we'll get a blockbuster version of Andrews at this point. .
For the past few years, he has been the Ravens' top receiving target. That's no longer the case. Zay Flowers is definitely the go-to choice. Andrews ranks fifth on the team in targets, behind backup running back Justice Hill.
The addition of Derrick Henry provided a more reliable running game and reduced the need for passing. So there were fewer passes, and a much smaller percentage went to Andrews. What do you have?
There are hard edges that you want to remove. See if you can find a buyer based on week 6's production spike. Even if you know there's no fantasy comeback, let's tout a comeback with this maverick tight end.
Get it while you can!
Caleb Williams QB, Bears
He was closer to Bryce Young in the first two games, but closer to Jaden Daniels in the last two games. He won't be as productive as Daniels, but he can now play with Williams.
Tank Bigsby RB, Jaguars
Did Dernest Johnson get a surprising amount of work after Travis Etienne Jr. went down with a hamstring issue? It's abnormal. Big Busy has been solid so far, and Johnson is expected to take a backseat to him as long as Etienne is out.
Demario Douglas WR, Patriots
It's encouraging that he recorded six catches for 92 yards and a TD on nine targets with new QB Drake Maye. He shouldn't be in the starting lineup, but he's worth having on the roster.
Grant Calcaterra TE, Eagles
With TE4 Dallas Giodato out this season with a hamstring injury, Calcaterra should take on the bulk of the work.
We don't buy it
Sean Tucker RB, Buccaneers
Consider Dernest Johnson's version of Tucker the Bucks. I don't think his use in Week 6 (14-of-136, 1 TD) at the expense of Bucky Irving will continue.
Gabe Davis WR, Jaguars
He had one of his big games on Sunday, going 5-for-45 with 5 hits and 2 TDs. Notes: In his first five games, he scored in single digits in PPR. He is exactly what we thought he would be. : Occasional feasts in times of great hunger.
Romeo Doubs WR, Packers
We had a great fantasy day, buoyed by two touchdowns. But he only had three catches and four targets. There's Jaden Reed, and there are other Packers WRs, but I don't think anyone can trust the “others.”
Do you want to bet on the NFL?
Josh Downs WR, Colts
If Joe Flacco stays at QB, we like Downs' prospects. But Anthony Richardson will be back. And if he returns, the Colts will have no one to rely on at WR.
